How Sticker Application Simplifies Your Projects

At Accurate CNC, we have a wide range of capabilities, from precision machining to laser cutting to 3D printing. But many of our customers don’t realize some of our specialized services like sticker applications. We can simplify your project by completing this final step for you while it’s already in our shop, saving you the hassle of trying to do it yourself or looking for another vendor.

Our Signage History

When our shop opened many years ago, we specialized first in inlays and then signage. The signage was a natural outgrowth of our CNC router services, and with it came a great deal of sticker applications. Over the years we became very proficient at quickly and flawlessly applying stickers to these signs.

Eventually, our capabilities expanded beyond routing. As we took on more machining work, we naturally had fewer sticker application requests. We’ve now realized that many of our customers could benefit from this capability, but simply aren’t aware of it.

Flawless Sticker Application at Accurate CNC

We can easily apply any custom color vinyl that you’d like on your sign or project. Either we can have it printed, or we can buy it off the shelf if it’s available. We are happy to apply either product to your substrate.

Most signage we work on is made out of outdoor-rated plastic like Dibond or Sintra. We will typically apply the vinyl over the top of the plastic, and then rout the letters afterward. This leaves a clean edge and flawless application of the color.

Depending on the part, we may add a paper pre-mask over the top to protect it and avoid damage. This paper pre-mask peels off easily, and the vinyl is permanent.

Our sticker applications save customers time and unnecessary stress. Applying these stickers sounds easy, but there is a subtle art to it that we’ve mastered over the years. Some customers will try to find a cheaper option, but this is false savings. We’ve seen customers go elsewhere to save, or try to apply the stickers themselves, only to end up with visibly crooked stickers on the parts we made.

We will ensure that your sticker is applied correctly and professionally. Having our team apply your sticker also saves the step of taking the project to another vendor after we’ve machined it. It’s convenient to leverage us as your one-stop shop and speed up your timelines.

Examples of Our Work

In the example below, we cut the black vinyl ourselves, applied it to the plastic circles, and added a radius to the top to ensure a crisp edge.

We also often apply vinyl rulers or dial stickers. These adhesive rulers can often be bought online in places like McMaster-Carr, and in certain instances, we can even use laser engraving for the ruler. The image above is an optical measuring instrument, and the ruler allows users to know how far the focusing lens is for different focal lengths.
