Precision You Can Count On: How Accurate CNC Ensures Long-Term Consistency

At Accurate CNC Services, many of our customers have been ordering parts from us for well over a decade. There’s a reason they keep coming back: whether it’s the first piece or the thousandth, every component that leaves our facility meets the same exceptional standards.

How have we maintained this consistency in the face of a changing manufacturing landscape, where a generation of machinists is retiring and labor shortages are challenging the industry? From documentation to training, our precision machining processes have us set up for the long term. Our customers can rest assured that—no matter what happens in the industry at large—any part you re-order from our shop in five years will be identical to the one you receive today.

Proactive Quality Checks to Prevent Delays

In our Idaho machine shop, inspection is not just one single step at the end of the manufacturing process. Quality control begins during machining, where we implement macros for critical features. This proactive approach allows us to address issues early in our process when corrections are still possible.

For instance, if a hole will have a bearing pressed in, our mills are programmed to automatically check its dimensions. The program will pause, deploying the probe to measure the feature and compare it to its specifications. If the hole is in spec, the program will continue; if it is out of spec, the machinist is alerted and can make any necessary adjustments. This automated inspection system not only ensures precision but also protects customers from costs and delays associated with rework or waste.

Detailed Documentation for Every Part We Machine

The moment we receive an order, we begin creating a detailed setup sheet. Machinists add notes and insights to these living documents during production, ensuring they contain every piece of information needed to manufacture the part exactly the same way every time.

For complex parts, the setup sheets are expanded into large, comprehensive guides with detailed notes. If a new machinist machines the part for the first time, they’ll always have the instructions necessary to produce the part with precision.

By capturing and preserving all manufacturing knowledge in our permanent documentation system, we ensure no part is reliant on a single person’s expertise. This approach guarantees consistent quality for every part, regardless of your order frequency.

Two Final Inspections to Ensure Precision

Our final quality control step goes beyond a single inspection. After our machining is complete, our dedicated inspector thoroughly reviews each part against drawings and specifications. And we don’t stop there—as an additional layer of scrutiny, we have a second staff member perform one final check before delivery

From our machinists' initial measurements to our automated macro verification systems, through dual inspection protocols, each part passes through multiple checkpoints before shipping. While this attention to detail may seem extreme, it's this commitment that ensures every part leaving our facility meets or exceeds our customers' exacting standards.

Why Your Parts Stay Consistent for the Long-Term

Change is inevitable in this industry. When customers request parts they first ordered 15 years ago, certain elements of production in our shop may have changed—new machinists may operate our equipment, for instance, or advanced tooling may have helped to reduce manufacturing time.

But what remains is the consistency and quality of your parts. Through our meticulous efforts in quality and our documentation of tribal knowledge, we know that every component will meet the same exacting standards for years to come.
