Accurate CNC’s Approach to Press Brake Bending

Press brake bending requires careful planning, along with the right tooling and equipment to produce consistent results. At Accurate CNC, our approach ensures customers receive better-fitting parts and a smoother manufacturing experience.

Our design for manufacturability (DFM) insight combined with our collection of tooling and advanced equipment ensures accuracy bend after bend.

Every Project Begins with DFM

Our approach to press brake bending begins with evaluating the design for manufacturability.

We examine each part for issues, including:

  • Holes or cutouts too close to bend lines that may become distorted

  • Unnecessary or difficult bends

  • Special tooling or setup requirements

  • Materials that may not be a great match for the application or bending process

When designing in CAD, it is sometimes hard to tell what might be difficult or expensive to manufacture. That’s why our team reviews each design and provides feedback early in the process so potential issues can be addressed before production begins.

By making small tweaks to a design, customers can cut costs significantly without affecting part performance.

Extensive Tooling for Faster, More Flexible Production

We maintain a growing press brake tooling library, allowing us to tackle a wide variety of bends.

Having tooling on hand ensures faster production because we don’t have to build custom tooling or source it from somewhere else.

This helps us:

  • Reduce setup time

  • Form parts accurately the first time

  • Minimize delays

And when custom tooling is necessary, we identify this early to avoid delays later in production.

Advanced Equipment for Improved Accuracy and Consistency

press brake bending

Our ACCURL 5-Axis CNC Press Brake GeniusPro, with 245 tons of bending force, allows us to form parts of varying sizes with exceptional accuracy and efficiency.

The machine’s high tonnage enables us to bend long and thick plate, while advanced programming features verify flat patterns before production begins, ensuring consistency across runs.

Investing in advanced equipment was a priority because we want to ensure customers receive accurately formed parts through an efficient manufacturing process, no matter how complex their requirements are. We routinely meet demanding tolerances and produce formed parts within ± 0.010 inch, ensuring components fit correctly during assembly.

CNC Crowning for Better-Fitting Parts

Long parts naturally deflect during bending. To compensate for this, we use CNC crowning.

Our CNC crowning system enables consistent angles across the entire length of the part. This consistency is especially critical for customers manufacturing assemblies.

One customer of ours manufactures large walk-in safes. We ensure the frame components for each safe fit together accurately after bending, so no corrective work is required before assembly. This saves time and streamlines production for our customer.
