4 Tips for Faster Precision Machining Quotes

Need parts fast? We get it! And we want to help you have a speedy, seamless experience with Accurate CNC Services.

Every job begins with a quote, whether you need precision machining, rapid prototyping services, laser cutting, powder coating, or one of our many other capabilities

And the quicker we can build your quote, the sooner we can start your job!

Use this Checklist to Expedite Your Manufacturing Estimate

Move your project along quickly by providing us with a comprehensive Request for Quote (RFQ) that includes every detail about your part. This checklist will ensure that you don’t overlook a single callout when submitting your RFQ.

1. Submit your RFQ online

precision machining quotes software

The fastest, simplest way to obtain a quote is through our website. Simply click the bright red button in the top right corner—or click here: Request A Quote.

Our precision machine shop’s online RFQ system is:

  • ITAR registered

  • 100% US-based and administered

  • Securely hosted on GovCloud

  • CMMC compliance-ready

  • Optimized for efficiency, accuracy, and collaboration

We love hearing from our customers by phone or mail, but our online RFQ system is leaps and bounds faster than any other RFQ method. So save yourself a ton of time and send us your RFQ via our online portal.

2. Upload a 3D model and a detailed drawing

  • The 3D model. When you upload a 3D model, our RFQ software reads the file to produce an ultra-accurate quote. The platform is even capable of identifying potential manufacturability issues, which empowers our team to address concerns with you before they become a serious problem.

  • The drawing. Your drawing (.pdf, .idw, etc.) outlines key information that will help us clearly understand your part’s specifications. Without a drawing, our precision machine shop cannot move forward.

3. Include manufacturing callouts on your drawing

Your drawing should include at least these callouts:

  • Material type, thickness, and color. If you aren’t sure which material will work best for your part, notate that you need a recommendation. We’ll either advise you or connect you directly with our material supplier for more specialized support.

  • Tolerances. Because 3D models don’t include tolerance information, you must define your tolerances on your drawing. Otherwise, we will manufacture your part with our shop’s standard tolerance of .005”.

  • Finishing requirements. If your part requires any finishing processes, such as anodizing, for example, we need to know up front. Finishing processes not only impact your cost and lead time but may also affect your part’s tolerances—and we’ll need to take that into consideration during the machining process.

4. Tell us your lead time requirements

On your quote, you’ll find our precision machine shop’s standard lead time for your part. If you’re working on a particularly tight timeline, please tell us in your RFQ! We’ll assess whether your deadline is feasible for our team and include any applicable expedite options in your custom quote.
